Change and Action
I've been inspired by Leo Babauta, author of Zen Habits and mnmlist, and in as much as I'd love to see my grand plan for this blog materialize, I need to take baby steps.
For now I will:
-stop posting recipes (ha! as though there were tons)
-aim to post once a week
-that post will be a picture
Here I go!

Lemon Ice Cream Cake
Total yum. Total double yum with candied almonds and berry sauce.
I endlessly nagged Elizabeth for this recipe and am so glad that I did. It's always a hit, can be made way ahead of time, and transports fairly easily (avoid 30+ minute drives). I just wish I could figure out a way to take it to a picnic (as if I attend so many).

Lemon Loaf
Mami is a cook, not a baker, so I learned to how bake solo. I learned from pans of ruined brownies (do not replace eggs with water), rock sugar instead of caramel (I stirred and stirred and stirred) and melted wax on my cookies and baking sheets (wax paper and parchment paper are two different animals).
I've had this recipe for ages and always mentally thank Mrs. Stark for sharing it with me. She even generously gave me her own loaf pans, which was such a relief because coming from a non-baking Asian household, no such pans existed in our kitchen. This Lemon Loaf was one of my first successful baking projects. At 12, it felt pretty good that Papi was a huge fan, and he still is.

Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti
Woke up early yesterday and instead of tidying up my messy apartment, I decided to make more of a mess and bake Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti. This recipe has been in my Bake This folder for ages and I'm very happy that baking trumped cleaning. They're delicious, crunchy and require only very basic ingredients. Love love love. I took them to Louesa's bridal shower much to Michelle's delight.
Thanks Joy the Baker
